New Label SUPERFECTA RECORDINGS
Springs to Life with Roster of '80s Reissues & Rare Material

  • First Releases Scheduled for June 3, 2003: Cabaret Voltaire & Del Amitri

  • LOS ANGELES, CA (March 18, 2003) - Jason Fiber (World Domination, Wherehouse Music) announces the launch of Superfecta Recordings. Based in Hollywood, Superfecta Recordings steps into the music arena with an eclectic roster of 1980s alternative reissues that includes rare and unreleased material. This is the first time that many of the Superfecta releases have become available domestically, and many have long languished out of print. Jason adds "As an obsessed music fan I found myself waiting impatiently for certain crucial titles to be released or reissued on CD. Realizing that the odds of this happening were growing dimmer by the minute I decided to take matters into my own hands and rescue them from certain obscurity".

Superfecta Recordings will release Cabaret Voltaire - The Original Sound of Sheffield '83 -'87 (Best of) on June 3, 2003. Originally on Some Bizarre/Virgin overseas, it is the first time this seminal recording is available as a domestic release on any format. Cabaret Voltaire was at the forefront of the UK electronic movement in the late '70s and continued to push the boundaries into the '80s with a huge impact on the house and techno scenes in both America and Europe. One of the most influential bands in the industrial and electronic music genres, this disc is the second Original Sound of Sheffield Anthology, this one compiling the Virgin/EMI 12-inch singles from 1983 -1987.

Also slated for a June 3, 2003 release is Del Amitri's self-titled '85 debut. This rare gem has not been available in the US for nearly 10 years outside of an import. Fans and music lovers alike will appreciate the digitally re-mastered recording that includes four previously unreleased bonus tracks and special liner notes written by lead vocalist Justin Currie. Glasgow's Del Amitri was among the leaders of the '80s sound, blending their own version of folk and rock-n-roll. They experienced major success with top charting hits such as Roll to Me, Kiss This Thing Goodbye and Always the Last to Know.

Additional releases scheduled for 2003 include Flesh For Lulu - Long Live The New Flesh, The Colourfield - Virgins & Philistines, and the first CD release ever of the original soundtrack from the motion picture Bachelor Party with unreleased material from Oingo Boingo, The Alarm and R.E.M.
